About OASES Aquaculture: Goals

Goals & Objectives:

Will aid in replenishing invertebrates and coral species in decline in the wild and develop techniques and technology to rebuild reef ecosystems.
Will work with and instruct other institutions and companies on how to be able to provide various captive-bred invertebrates and coral species to the aquarium community in order to reduce demand on aquatic natural resources.
Being captive bred the mortality rate will be significantly lower than species captured in the wild.
By providing captive-bred species, a reduction in the demand on aquatic natural resources will occur.
Will improve on existing propagation techniques through continued scientific research.
Will work with schools and institutions (Elementary, Jr. High, High, Colleges and Universities) in order to increase awareness of aquaculture and its benefits to facilitate students' understanding of the subject.
Will work with the public to increase awareness of humankind's effect on the reef ecosystems and how they can make a difference.
